Free eBay Coupons Boxing Week Blowout

December 28th, 2009

I know I don’t have to tell most people about the great savings you can find on the week after Christmas. In many case people are getting savings from 20 to 80 percent on items that only a couple days earlier were full price. Well there is also something you need to know about free eBay coupons after Christmas.

You see the suppliers of the free eBay coupons are quick to deactivate them just before Christmas because of the huge amounts of spending going on. However what many of you don’t know is that many of these codes are set to work again starting Christmas day and onward. The people that supply the free eBay coupons count on you to think the codes are shut down and then you won’t bother using them. Well last year on Christmas I had my biggest savings ever. I saved 250 dollars on a 400 dollar purchase.

The thing is the suppliers of the coupons want you to think they are the good guys, but they also don’t count on many people using the codes right after Christmas. Well the cats out of the basket now. So make sure before you go online to do your after Christmas and Boxing week shopping you get all your free eBay coupons first.

One warning though. Quite often these codes are monitored and taken down after a certain limit is hit. So because of this you do want to use your free eBay coupons and not just wait because they will expire. Once they expire the savings will be gone. Realistically you are probably already getting a great deal but just think of how much better the deal could be if you use the free eBay coupon on time.

I make a nice living online and I love the fact that I can give back to the people. I dedicate about 15 percent of my work week to finding free eBay coupons for others to use. Unlike some others I will never try charging you for them.

I am quite proud of the fact that I am absolutely straight up with the people about free eBay coupons so they know what to expect right from the start.

so make sure you go to one or both of my sites to get your free eBay coupons that you are going to want to use from Christmas day and the following week after that.

Redemption Codes is the first site I built when I first started providing codes. Well now I have taken the time to build a second site which still has all the great codes plus you will find tons of other discounts on many other things. This website is Discount Duo

Buying a Leather Heavy Bag

December 27th, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

A leather heavy bag is a specialized boxing bag designed to withstand years of abuse and help teach the boxer how to properly punch. It is designed to closely replicate the response that a gloved fist will have on a human body.

While there are many common types of boxing bags that a typical boxing gyms have, the leather heavy bag is a mainstay of all of them. A typical heavy bag, regardless of type weighs between forty and one-hundred pounds. The size of the bag is designated by the size and strength of the person punching.

For example, a 170 lb male with a strong punch should work on a seventy pound punching bag, while a professional boxer of the same weight would need a one-hundred pound bag. A lightweight or featherweight boxer would typically utilize a forty pound heavy bag.

The typical leather bag is covered in thick leather, similar in thickness to proper motorcycle grade leather. This leather varies in thickness but is typically one quarter of an inch thick. This allows the bag to withstand many more hits, regardless of if the boxer using it is using bag gloves or boxing gloves. In fact, leather is the preferred material for mixed martial artists that are practicing striking without gloves for a tournament that uses such rules.

Because leather is a natural product a bit of care is needed. Typically, a boxer will wipe down the bag after their practice session and someone that works for the gym will use leather cleaner once a week. As needed, a coat of leather conditioner will be added to make sure the leather stays supple and does not become brittle. While impressive to onlookers, most boxers would rather not have the leather shatter from a strong punch.

A heavy bag is essential to building stamina as well as coordination. Picking a proper size is important to make sure that the bag does not sway too much when the boxer punches it. If the bag is the wrong weight, it will be harder to punch because it is swaying too much. If it is too heavy, it can cause pain because it does not give enough for the size boxer.

The other consideration is how to properly hang a heavy bag. There are different types of mounts for leather heavy bags. Wall mounts are common in many boxing centers as are rafter mounts. For areas that either of these options is not practical, there are heavy bag stands as well.

If you are considering purchasing one, be sure to consider how to mount it, whether you need the additional expense of getting a leather bag as well as the correct weight for your weight and skill level. A heavy bag is a great investment for the person wishing to train in boxing.

Manny Pacquiao

December 27th, 2009

The name is Emmanuel. To the boxing world, he is Pacman. To his adoring fans, he is Our Manny. To the boxing pundits, analysts, enthusiasts, commentators, not excluding politician-hangers on, he is Pacquiao. To the millions of starving Filipinos, hungry for heroes, who feed on political bickering breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in between, he is the Pambansang Kamao (National Fist).

The PK is the Filipino’s national pride, the Filipino boxing jewel. He has done the country proud. A jewel indeed to be treasured and flaunted. He is of humble beginnings. From his home in General Santos City, somewhere south of the Philippines, the Boy PK earned his and his family’s keep even at a tender, young age. PK sold donuts in town and brought home coconuts which he in turn sold to neighbors. PK’s story has the stuff that John Gokongwei’s, Henry Sy’s and Lucio Tan’s million bucks success stories are made of. There’s a difference, however, a huge difference. The Filipino-Chinese Taipans’ idea of a punch is limited to the beverage.

The PK discovered by recruiters for amateur boxing. This led to his now legendary career and stellar status in boxing. When he loses in a fight, the Filipino nation is not convinced. An icon is not supposed to lose. There may have been some human errors in the judges’ scoring, anything but, certainly not in anyway due to the PK’s human limitations, slight imperfections. When the PK was badly bruised in a fight and still made it to the 12th round standing, during his first encounter with El Terrible, the nation was still euphoric and welcomed him home like they would welcome him in victory. The idol is never fallen in the eyes of his countrymen.

He is a son, brother, husband, father, friend, Mr. Everyman, and PK. He is as human as any one and as Filipino as every Filipino born and bred. During his fights, his wife would always be at the ringside and his mother would always be kneeling in front of their home’s altar holding on to her rosary beads. His two young boys would watch their father’s fight on satellite TV, but no other fan is as privileged as these two who get to sleep, sip and dine with the PK. He is the home grown boy who made good, he is fantastic media copy, a much sought after product endorser, whose material blessings he shares through his charities.

It has been a long time since the traffic-heavy streets of Manila was for once empty when people chose to stay home to watch a delayed boxing telecast and longer still since the time when Filipinos were swept in a united adulation, all because of Manny Pacquiao, the People’s Champion

Boxing Training – Using Music to Boost Your Workout Potential

December 26th, 2009

Boxing is about agility, strength, and endurance. It is about perseverance and strength of character, but most of all it is about will, the will to win and the will to live. It brings out the strongest in the human spirit. Perhaps, that’s why the world fell in love with Rocky Balboa, because he stood for something and he refused to give in. And in that time of his darkest hour, and ultimate adversity he refused to quit, he took a beating and kept coming back.

Americans identify with this, because we are a proud culture of fighters, we are the strong and the proud. Our ancestors came here from other places to build a better life and so they did. We are the offspring of that great group of people, and we will never forget that. Thus, we watch boxing with awe, and we realize how much these fighters go through, as they train every day until they can’t stand up anymore.

They do it day after day, year after year all in the quest to be the best. But each fight is different and each fight could be their last. It’s a high-stakes game with big rewards and big risks. A fighter must be committed and he must get through those grueling workouts. One way that the fighters are able to get through all that conditioning is the use of music during their workouts.

Each day they will run to music, each day they will spar to music, each day they will hit the weights and workout music. It helps them get through the day, it helps them to find out who they are, and the music they choose to play is very much a part of their essence, their spirit, their drive, and their ambition to win because that’s what boxing is about. Please consider all this.
